AEW adds a 12th match to Double or Nothing

on

AEW Double or Nothing 2024 takes place Sunday night (May 26) in Las Vegas. There were 11 matches officially announced for the card coming into tonight’s go-home episode of Collision, but only one of those bouts was listed for the pre-show. That means there was room for another match or two be announced, and that’s what happened tonight.

Brian Cage and the Gates of Agony have renamed themselves as “Cage of Agony” after breaking apart from Mogul Embassy. Brian recently picked up a win over Anthony Bowens on Rampage to show why he’s a strong leader of this group.

Cage and Bowens crossed paths again on Collision in a four-way team match. The Acclaimed and Cage of Agony ended up brawling to the backstage area during the match and were not involved in the finish in the ring. Therefore they’ll settle their issues in a trios match (including Daddy Ass) on the Double or Nothing pre-show.

One other change was made to the Double or Nothing lineup tonight. The Lucha Bros defeated The Gunns in a tag team bout, which means the Unified World Trios Championship will now be on the line on pay-per-view when Death Triangle challenges Bang Bang Gang.

Here is the updated lineup for Double or Nothing:

  • Anarchy in the Arena: Bryan Danielson, Darby Allin & FTR vs. Young Bucks, Kazuchika Okada & Jack Perry
  • AEW World Championship: Swerve Strickland (c) vs. Christian Cage
  • TBS Championship: Willow Nightingale (c) vs. Mercedes Moné
  • AEW Women’s World Championship: Toni Storm (c) vs. Serena Deeb
  • TNT Championship: Adam Copeland (c) vs. Malakai Black inside a barbed wire steel cage
  • AEW International Championship: Roderick Strong (c) vs. Will Ospreay
  • IWGP World Heavyweight Championship eliminator match: Jon Moxley (c) vs. Konosuke Takeshita
  • FTW Championship: Chris Jericho (c) vs. Hook vs. Katsuyori Shibata
  • Unified World Trios Championship: Bang Bang Gang (c) vs. Death Triangle
  • Orange Cassidy vs. Trent Beretta in a straight-up wrestling match
  • Daddy Ass & The Acclaimed vs. Cage of Agony in a trios match (pre-show)
  • Thunder Rosa vs. Deonna Purrazzo (pre-show)

The PPV pre-shows often include three matches, so who knows, maybe a 13th match will be added to the lineup before bell time on Sunday.

Do you plan to order Double or Nothing 2024 and celebrate five years of AEW, Cagesiders?
