The Falcons have eight selections for 2024. Who will they end up with?
When the 2024 NFL Draft kicks off tonight, we won’t have to wait long to see Atlanta Falcons make their first selection, or at least to make a trade involving it.
For the fourth straight year, they have a top ten pick. For the third time in four years, they have the No. 8 overall selection, and if they stay there Bijan Robinson and Drake London will have a new eighth pick to hang out with. If not, well, things will get pretty interesting.
In total, the Falcons have eight picks in this upcoming class, with a pair of third rounders and a pair of sixth rounders in addition to zero seventh rounders. That gives the team a little flexibility to move around—something they’ve been wont to do under Terry Fontenot, even if it hasn’t been in the first round—and a chance to add badly-needed talent to the roster, especially on defense. The team may also be keen to pick up additional 2025 selections, given that they’re bracing to lose at least one pick in the Kirk Cousins tampering investigation from the league.
