Accused of having defrauded the Spanish tax authorities during his time at FC Sevilla (2016-2019), Wissam Ben Yedder risks a prison sentence of 9 months and a fine of €150,000, according to the Iberian press. As a reminder, the Monegasque striker was suspected of having concealed part of his income from the Spanish tax authorities and of having intentionally falsified his declarations.

Targeted by an investigation opened in 2019, Wissam Ben Yedder ended up paying the sums claimed from him (€267,597), without however seeing the Spanish public prosecutor drop his charges. The French international (19 caps, 3 goals) is due to appear on February 15 against these charges.
