Five players the Green Bay Packers brought in for pre-draft visits are still expected to go in the top 200 selections.

The Green Bay Packers are scheduled to make eight selections on Day 3 of the 2024 NFL Draft, with seven of those selections coming in the final three rounds of the event. At this point, you probably don’t know many names of prospects — unless you’re a true draftnik.

Thankfully, that’s where our friend Arif Hasan of Wide Left has come in handy. He’s compiled the best players available based on 96 draft boards, which we’ve made a table of for you.

Let’s go over who the best available players are, according to pre-draft projections, and highlight some names that are interesting, either because of their ties to the Green Bay Packers, their measurables or just because I think they’re good football players.

Best Players Available – Day 3

Here are some notable names, considering where the Packers are at in the draft:

  • Edge defender Austin Booker of Kansas (#85), quarterback Spencer Rattler of South Carolina (#88), running back Ray Davis of Kentucky (#128), safety Kitan Oladapo of Oregon State (#144) and interior defensive lineman Khristian Boyd of Northern Iowa (#177) all have reportedly had pre-draft visits with the Green Bay Packers. About half of the Packers’ draft picks over the last two draft classes have come from players who were visitors, not including linebackers Edgerrin Cooper and Ty’Ron Hopper this year.
  • Guard Christian Mahogany of Boston College (#93) played for current Packers defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley at the college level.
  • Wisconsin’s Tanor Bortolini (#130) and South Carolina’s Nick Gargiulo (#288) — who Hafley tried to get to transfer to Boston College from Yale last season — very much fit the Packers’ “mold” on the offensive line.
  • Some players who I like with no connections to Green Bay are defensive lineman Brandon Dorlus of Oregon (#80), linebacker Cedric Gray of North Carolina (#99), cornerback Khyree Jackson of Oregon (#100), defensive lineman Mekhi Wingo of LSU (#109), edge defender Gabriel Murphy of UCLA (#110), safety Malik Mustapha of Wake Forest (#124), safety/linebacker James Williams of Miami of Florida (#160) and linebacker Edefuan Ulofoshio of Washington (#168). Just know our team of nerd draftniks will be celebrating any of these selections if the Packers decide to make them.
