The newest Bengal is an absolute beast.

The Cincinnati Bengals have officially added to the offensive line room with the 18th pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Georgia Bulldogs right tackle Amarius Mims was selected by the Bengals and will look to protect Joe Burrow for years to come.

Mims is an absolute monster of a human being, standing at 6-foot8 and weighing in at 340 pounds.

Mims did battle injuries in 2023 but did not give up a sack in over 160 total pass-blocking reps for Georgia.

The Bengals knew they would need to grab a franchise tackle after losing Jonah Williams to the Cardinals this past offseason.

Cincinnati then signed Trent Brown to a one-year deal in free agency, and Mims has an opportunity to develop into a starter during his rookie season.

During the post-selection press conference, head coach Zac Taylor said the team plans to plug him in on both sides of the offensive line behind Orlando Brown Jr. and Trent Brown.

”Absolutely in terms of, he’s going to have to work both (tackle spots). That’s just the way our young tackles come in here,” said Taylor. “Again, his primary experience has been playing right tackle. But just the way that these guys come in, we’ve got Trent (Brown) and Orlando (Brown) right now, which is perfect for our situation. So, he gets a chance to work both sides.”

While Mims’ career outlook is at right tackle, it would be a huge plus for the Bengals if he can effectively play both sides this year. We know about Trent Brown’s injury history, but Orlando Brown also got banged up last year, so it’s nice to have some security behind him as well.

It is worth noting in college, Mims only saw the right side of the offensive line for the Bulldogs.

This is one of the best-case scenarios for the Bengals and Joe Burrow.

Welcome to the Jungle, Amarius!
