Xavi explains the reasons for the defeat at Rayo Vallecano

FC Barcelona lost on the lawn of Rayo Vallecano (2-1), on the sidelines of the 31st day of La Liga. The Catalans remain leaders (11 points ahead), especially after Real Madrid’s new setback the day before in Girona (4-1), and should win the title. But the setback conceded did not at all more to Xavi Hernandez, who gave a big rant after the defeat.

Before addressing the clash against Real Bétis, the Catalan coach returned this Friday to the defeat at Rayo. “We have to do our self-criticism. Maybe the fact that Madrid lost relaxed us. This also happened to us in Almería. These are errors that we must correct. Nothing is won, there are points at stake (…) Rayo were also very intense and played well, they got the better of us at times. We have to come back to our values, to our model of play, to dominate. We were slow, we didn’t understand the third man, we rushed the game. We talked to the players. There was a problem with the football concept that did not fit, the coach sometimes gets the wrong approach and players..
