Xander Schauffele Confirms Scottie Scheffler’s Mugshot Goes Viral in Their Group Chat

on

The situation surrounding Scottie Scheffler before the start of the PGA Championship sparked a great deal of reactions. The American was arrested a few hours before his appearance at Valhalla Golf Club. Scheffler, the current No. 1, didn’t communicate well with the police regarding traffic rules, after which they followed him, pulled him out of the car, and put him in handcuffs.

Scheffler didn’t resist and went with the police to the station.

Many were shocked by his behavior, but the 27-year-old admitted that he didn’t know what was happening at that moment, later learning that one person had died.

Shortly after, Scottie Scheffler’s mug shot appeared. Despite everything that happened, Scheffler returned to the golf course and performed quite well. Finishing T8 is a great result for Scottie. This great golfer, however, is still happy with his performance, considering everything that happened.

On the other hand, his colleague, Xander Schauffele, managed to achieve a victory and win his first Major in his career. The golfer with the same name decided to reveal an interesting thing after his appearance at the Major. At the very beginning of the conversation for Barstool Sports, Schauffele commented on how Scheffler responded to everything that happened to him.

“Yeah I did [speak to Scheffler]. He handled it really well, in Scottie Scheffler fashion. I mean he’s a good dude. As soon as I saw it, I thought it was a prank, and then I saw it on the news and I was like ‘holy smokes this actually happened’.”- he said, as quoted by Golf Magic.

Schauffele believes that this is not particularly a tough situation for Scheffler, who has shown that he can handle pressure in his career. Although initially skeptical, he later found out that Scheffler had indeed ended up at the police station. Schauffele thinks that the 27-year-old handled things in a great way. What is particularly interesting is that Schauffele was in the same group as Scheffler. Most in that group had an interesting reaction, probably surprised by what happened.

“It feels like he’s going to come out okay from all of this, it feels like things are going to get dropped, I don’t know, but he took it like a champ. We have a group chat with our physio, our team, our crew, it’s like me, Gary, JT, Jordan, Scottie, Pat, we all share the same physio. So the boys were heckling Scottie a little bit, just enough.”- he continued.

In the end, Schauffler admitted whether the group chat picture changed into Scheffler’s mug shot, Xander laughed, admitting that it did happen. This shows how amusing it was for them that the 27-year-old found himself in such a situation. Indeed, looking at it from this aspect, few expected Scottie to find himself in such a situation, but life is such that it brings unpredictable things, both on the golf course and off it.

Max Homa reacted to his performance and Scheffler’s arrest in an interesting way

Max Homa also laughed at everything that happened regarding Xander Schauffele. He was also part of the PGA Championship, finishing 13 shots behind Xander Schauffele. The 33-year-old golfer took the opportunity to express his frustrations with his performance at the last Major through social media, emphasizing that he lost to a golfer who was in jail on Friday morning.

‘Frustrating week in KY. Lost to a guy who was literally in jail Friday morning. Tough look for me. The journey continues in Fort Worth next week.’- Scottie Scheffler wrote.

Scottie Scheffler and the allegations against him

The brilliant Scheffler is charged with second-degree assault of a police officer, third-degree criminal mischief, reckless driving, and disregarding traffic signals from an officer directing traffic. After the death of John Mills, the PGA Championship vendor, there were numerous reactions, but few expected Scottie Scheffler to end up in jail after all.

The 27-year-old intended to reach the golf club, prepare for the upcoming challenge, and continue with his excellent performances. However, Scottie found himself in a strange situation and didn’t know why traffic problems had arisen, primarily thinking about reaching the golf club.

After everything, Scottie decided to apologize, stating that it was a misunderstanding. The popular golfer also expressed sorrow for the vendor’s death. In addition, Scheffler conveyed condolences to the deceased’s family, considering it a tragic situation.

The 27-year-old now must quickly forget about the events of the PGA Championship and focus on what lies ahead for him. Scheffler will already have the opportunity to make things right at the US Open next month, and as the top favorite, win this Major. He will have an interesting task ahead of him.
