WWE NXT’s numbers dip for pre-taped episode

The ratings and viewership data are in for the Dec. 19 edition of WWE NXT.

According to Wrestlenomics, the pre-taped show had a total audience of 641,000 and a 0.17 rating among 18-49 year olds. Both are down from the previous Tuesday. The demo number is NXT’s smallest since August.

The episode aired opposite an NBA game (Memphis vs. New Orleans) that was watched by 1.4 million on TNT, per SportsMediaWatch. There was also college basketball & football on ESPN during NXT that drew roughly 900K viewers, as well as the usual array of programming we no longer get immediate ratings information about.

But this is mostly likely the result of a pre-taped show during the holiday season. Last night did a better 18-49 rating than its counterpart a year earlier under similar, although it had less total viewers.

Another taped show next week on Boxing Day, followed by a big New Year’s Evil live show on Jan. 2. We’ll see how those do. In the meantime, here’s a rundown of NXT’s audience and ratings share of the 18-49 demographic over the past year:
