What Age Demographic Watches AEW or NXT?

on

NXT pulled in strong numbers in the 35 and older demographic while AEW did better in the 12-34 age range. While both USA and TNT were airing commercials for their respective shows for weeks, TNT was mostly airing AEW commercials during shows that only appeal to the older demographic. That means that the younger demographic who were tuning in weren’t doing so because of the increased marketing.

Throughout the show NXT had lost a lot of their younger demographic while AEW’s went up. AEW lost their older demographic but NXT didn’t gain which means those people likely went on to watch other shows.

This was NXT’s third week on USA network so they weren’t expecting a spike in ratings. AEW made their official cable television debut so a lot of their ratings could be attributed to curiosity. The ratings this week shouldn’t be considered normal for either company.

Ratings overall were dipping throughout AEW with the lowest segment of the night being Hangman Page and PAC. Their match lost around a hundred thousand viewers.
