Long-time WWE employee Sue Aitchison is no longer with the company. That per PWInsider’s Mike Johnson, who called the move “truly shocking”. Multiple sources told Insider that Aitchison was “let go” yesterday (April 12).

Aitchison has been with WWE for more than 38 years, most prominently as their Director of Community Relations. She’s credited with building the company’s relationship with Make-A-Wish, and was honored by that organization as one of its Chris Greicius Celebrity Award (given to individuals who’ve “played a significant and impactful role in furthering the Make-A-Wish mission”) winners in 2006 and 2016. She received WWE’s Warrior Award from John Cena at the 2019 Hall of Fame Ceremony.

Though Insider reports that Aitchison’s responsibilities had lessened over the years, Johnson writes that the move still “reverberated with shock among long-time former employees and was yet another sign of the end of the old WWE era.”

According to Wrestling Observer and Post Wrestling, Aitchison most recent title at WWE was Senior Director of Talent Relations. That makes her the third recent departure from the Talent Relations department that we know of, following Executive Vice-President Dan Ventrelle, and Senior Vice President of Athlete ID & Development Trent Wilfinger earlier this week.
