More footage of the Seahawks practicing!
The Seattle Seahawks held their second day of organized team activities (OTAs) at VMAC in Renton on Wednesday. Media was present for the first time and there were plenty of quotes to be had from Coach Mike Macdonald, including an injury update on Abe Lucas. Geno Smith also had a few quotes about new offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb and the system that he’s installing.

But you’re probably here for highlights. Any highlights! Anything to get you amped for a brand new era and a brand spankin’ new season of Seattle Seahawks football. Well guess what? We’ve got you covered! And by “we” I mean Seahawks beat reporters and the team’s official social media account.
We start off with new backup QB Sam Howell working with Jaxon Smith-Njigba.

And look! It’s Jack Westover! Could the UDFA tight end make the roster?

Now we get to kick return duties. It’s an open competition following the departure of DeeJay Dallas, and the early OTA signs point to wide receivers Dee Eskridge and Laviska Shenault Jr.

…Tyler Lockett used to be great at returning kicks back in the day.

And lastly, a look at the starting offensive line for Wednesday’s practice. McClendon Curtis got first-team reps over Christian Haynes, while Anthony Bradford sat out with a tweaked ankle.
The NFL is normally strict about “live” contact in these workouts, but these drive-blocking drills do not fit the criteria. Don’t worry about the Seahawks getting fined or losing a draft pick.

Seattle is back at it on Wednesday, although that practice will presumably be behind closed doors.
