As noted earlier, WWE announced that the new RAW commentary team will feature Vic Joseph, Dio Maddin and WWE Hall of Famer Jerry Lawler, while the new SmackDown commentary team will include Michael Cole, Corey Graves and Renee Young.
WWE’s announcement did not mention Tom Phillips or Byron Saxton, who currently call the blue brand action with Graves.
It sounds like Phillips will be working behind-the-scenes for WWE. Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp noted on Twitter that he heard Phillips will be doing some “producing” for WWE. He added that the term is “very broad and vague” within the company.
There’s been no word yet on what WWE has planned for Saxton, but we will keep you updated on further fallout coming out of the announce team changes.
