Texas Christian University downed Tulsa 6-1 inside the Michael D. Case Tennis Center, to get the 2023 first Road win. Horned Frogs went 3-0 in a season for the third time in the last four years.

As reported by the TCU website, the men’s team took double points by winning fields two and three. The Horned Frogs then put in a dominant singles effort, sweeping the first four flies and losing just one game.

Head coach David Roditi explained: “Nice away win, our first away win of the year. Tulsa is always a tough game. We’ve been playing each other for a long, long time and they beat us a lot, and we they hit a lot here in Tulsa. Our boys were ready. Same joy from me. I’m proud of our team. They were ready. They were ready for a battle. We played really well in doubles. Luc Fomba and Jake Fearnley played very well in doubles as well as our number 3 team in doubles.

In singles, there were a lot of close first sets, and we were able to win most of them and put pressure on Tulsa. From there, we continued. It’s the start of the season, so there’s always room for improvement. There are some points where we have to play better at certain times, but overall, I was very happy with our performance. Now we have to go home and get ready for kick off. It will be tough. Three excellent teams arrive in the city. We prepare for Gonzaga on the first day and then see what happens. Come on Frogs.”
