One for the ages!
There are going to be a lot of numbers that come out over the next few days to show just how improbable the Tennessee Titans 28-27 win over the Miami Dolphins was on Monday night. They were on the road against one of the best offenses in the league trailing by 14 with less than three minutes to play in the game and came back and won. That’s nearly impossible.
According to Next Gen Stats, it was the second most improbably comeback of the Next Gen Stats era:
According to the NGS win probability model, the @Titans‘ win probability was as low as 0.4% when they trailed the Dolphins 27-13 with 3:08 left in regulation.

In case you can’t see the graphic, the Titans win probability got as low as 0.4% in the 4th quarter. That’s nothing when you have Will Levis under center!
That’s crazy, right? Well this one is even crazier, the Titans are the first team IN NFL HISTORY to win a game without overtime when trailing by 14 with less than 2:55 left to play:
The Titans are the first NFL team ever to be down 14 points with less than 2:55 left and win without overtime.

Levis was 9 of 11 for 152 yards with two touchdowns and a two-point conversion in the final 4:30 of the game. There is still a long way to go before Levis proves whether or not he is a franchise QB in the league, but he proved tonight that there will never be a moment that is too big for him. One of the biggest things is that he didn’t hang his head after the missed pitch to Derrick Henry. Poise and composure are so important in a quarterback, and Levis showed both in a HUGE way tonight.
