The Detroit Pistons became the laughingstock of the NBA this past season when they tied the record for the longest losing streak in NBA history with 28 straight defeats.

As bad as their season was, it could’ve been worse.

They could’ve been Solo Sikoa.

Ahead of Backlash this Saturday, the man attempting to wrest control of The Bloodline from Roman Reigns had lost 39 of his last 41 matches, including two no-contests. Sikoa’s last victory was at Crown Jewel in November, where he defeated John Cena.

But after months of gloom, the start of May marked a positive turnaround for Sikoa. On Wednesday, he ended his winless streak at a WWE live event in Bologna, Italy, as he and Tama Tonga defeated Randy Orton and LA Knight, who had the most victories over Sikoa during his winless stretch.

For Tonga, this was his first match in WWE since debuting on SmackDown last month after helping Sikoa wipe out Jimmy Uso. That assault laid the groundwork for a Sikoa-led coup to seize control of the Samoan dynasty in Reigns’ absence. Tonga’s presence has since benefited The Tribal Prince, as they also bloodied Kevin Owens, sending a message to WWE and possibly Reigns.

In the closing moments of the match in Bologna, Knight went for a roll-up on Tonga. As the former New Japan Pro Wrestling star kicked out, he sent Knight hurling into the ropes, where he was met with a punch to the face by Sikoa. The strike was enough to stun Knight, allowing Tonga to score the pin.

But it wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows for this Samoan SWAT team. After the match, Tonga and Sikoa double-teamed Knight until Orton made the save with an RKO to Tonga. As Sikoa attempted to sneak in a Samoan Spike on Orton, Knight cracked him with a BFT to run the bad guys out of the ring.

Despite walking out of the Unipol Arena with more lumps than they cared for, Sikoa and Tonga left with the victory, which is all that matters. At Backlash, this new Bloodline will attempt to maintain its winning ways when they battle Orton and Kevin Owens this Saturday in France.
