Trevor Lawrence is considered a star, but new Raiders’ quarterback has better key stats
Trevor Lawrence of the Jacksonville Jaguars is considered one of the better young quarterbacks in the NFL.
Gardner Minshew, who signed with the Las Vegas Raiders this offseason, is considered a journeyman, fringe starter.
Is that fair?
Well, if you compare the two quarterback’s basic stats, Minshew fares favorably.

Indeed, Minshew has better basic stats than Lawrence. It’s notable, of course, because Minshew was Jacksonville’ primary starting quarterback before the Jaguars took Lawrence with the No. 1 overall draft pick in 2021 and then sent Minshew to Philadelphia.
Is Minshew better than Lawrence?
Well, he can further help his case in 2024 if he beats out Aidan O’Connell as the Raiders’ starter this season.
