Also, will Seattle make the playoffs?

Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the NFL. Throughout the year we ask questions of the most plugged-in Seattle Seahawks fans and fans across the country. Sign up here to participate in the weekly emailed surveys.

It’s time for the first Seahawks Reacts survey of 2024! Anything interesting happen lately that could impact fan confidence?

Oh.

Well feel free to make your voice heard on that front.

The next question pertains to the playoffs. Will Seattle get into the postseason with a win over the Arizona Cardinals and a Chicago Bears win (or tie!) against the Green Bay Packers? Or will the Seahawks not be so fortunate in terms of last-minute help like they were last season? What if the Seahawks just lose and it doesn’t matter what happens in the other game? Worse yet, what if the Seahawks lose but the Bears also win? Those are your choices!

The last two questions are about job security, and there’s not much more to it. Should the Seahawks fire defensive coordinator Clint Hurtt? The defense has been much, much worse than the offense, which is a bad thing when you realize how bad the defense was last year. Carroll has never moved on from a defensive coordinator after just two seasons, but this may be an exception.

Lastly, I know this has been a question requested before, but I’m finally doing it. Pete Carroll isn’t getting fired unless something drastic happens behind the scenes. We’re not basing this question on whether management will actually fire Pete. Would YOU fire Pete after this season, assuming Seattle doesn’t have some sort of miraculous Super Bowl run? It’s a “yes” or “no” question. The only “bad” season was 2021, but one playoff win and division title over the last seven years is starting to wear thin. Is it finally time to make that big leap and see if the team can find a better coach than Pete, or does he get another year to right the ship?
