Hopefully Byron Murphy II fares much better in this uniform number than the last first-round pick to wear this.

Uniform numbers are out for the Seattle Seahawks’ 2024 draft class. This is such a minor news item but it’s worth getting out there now so you can recognize who’s who when minicamp footage eventually gets released.

This info is courtesy of NFL Jersey Numbers, which tracks all of this data.

  • DT Byron Murphy II – No. 91 (previously worn by Bryan Mone)
  • TE A.J. Barner – No. 88 (previously worn by Cade Johnson)
  • OL Christian Haynes – No. 64 (previously worn by Austin Faoliu)
  • DB DJ James – No. 29 (previously worn by Sa’Rodorick Thompson)
  • OL Michael Jerrell – No. 65 (previously worn by Kendall Randolph)
  • LB Tyrice Knight – No. 48 (previously worn by Ben Burr-Kirven)
  • OL Sataoa Laumea – No. 63 (previously worn by Evan Brown)
  • DB Nehemiah Pritchett – No. 28 (previously worn by Kelvin Joseph)

Keep in mind that we’ve seen players change their numbers prior to the regular season. A recent example is cornerback Riq Woolen, who wore No. 39 as a rookie before switching to No. 27.

The last first-round defensive lineman to wear No. 91 is L.J. Collier, who started out with No. 95 as a rookie before switching in his second season. Chris Clemons is the most prominent and successful No. 91 of the John Schneider era. We’d much rather Murphy be more like Clemons than Collier.

We’ll have a separate article on the Seahawks’ 90-man roster whenever they get around to announcing their undrafted free agent signings.
