According to PW Insider, Hall of Famer Sting will be returning to WWE to set up an angle for the company’s next pay per view venture in Saudi Arabia. Reports are that the Stinger could appear even as early as tonight’s Royal Rumble event from Houston, although in what capacity he would be used is unknown. WWE’s last Saudi Arabia show, Crown Jewel, leaned heavily on a Team Hulk Hogan versus Team Ric Flair storyline, with neither legend getting physical during the bout.
It should be noted that the report states that Undertaker is currently NOT involved with any potential plans for Sting, a dream match that the WWE universe has referred to as one of the biggest what-ifs in wrestling history. Sources did indicate that Sting could return for a singles-match, his first since facing Seth Rollins at Night of Champions in 2015.
