Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.

Rumors for the Day:
- The Wrestling Observer Newsletter claims that Roman Reigns and Triple H were “pretty strong” against The Rock’s idea to beat Roman for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 40 and then vacating it to go back to Hollywood with The People’s Championship.
- Fightful Select heard from people in NXT who believe that Giulia will be presented as the female face of the brand after she begins working there, with one source expecting that she will fare even better than Asuka did in NXT.
- Regarding AEW, The Observer indicates there has been “a lot of frustration from wrestlers making a nice and even great living but not getting anywhere near the ring time nor upward mobility hoped for.”
- Wrestling Observer Live’s Bryan Alvarez said AEW President Tony Khan “does not like confrontation,” and that’s related to why he prefers to let contracts expire rather than fire people early.
- While discussing Mark Henry’s AEW contract status, Alvarez said “very soon” there will be “a lot of contracts coming due,” and he thinks “contracts are going to just expire, and that will be the end of people’s run in AEW.”
- According to Calgary Herald, the winners of the 2024 Owen Hart Cup will be crowned on July 10 in Calgary, with Martha Hart once again on hand at the AEW event.
- F4WOnline’s Dave Meltzer heard that the Saudi Arabian government’s sportswashing tactic has been very successful: “It’s now totally normal. All these people go there. It used to be controversial…They won the battle. They used sports to basically legitimize themselves, and used money to have everybody look the other way at all the other problems…they completely accomplished their goal.”
