Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.

Important reminder: Rumors are just that — rumors. None of this has been confirmed as fact, it’s just circulating around the pro wrestling rumor mill. We track rumor accuracy in a weekly feature called Rumor Look Back you can find here. Remember, take it all with a grain of salt.

Rumors for the Day:

  • Sting’s younger son Steve Borden, who played football for the University of Kentucky football and Wolfpac Sting for his dad’s retirement match at AEW Revolution, is now training to become a pro wrestler. That per Fightful Select.
  • The same site heard that WWE officials are hopeful Giulia will be fully recovered from the broken wrist she suffered at Marigold’s premiere event so she can work her debut match for them at NXT Heatwave on July 7. There’s still talk of having Giulia challenge Roxanne Perez for the NXT Women’s title at Heatwave, but that’s “not set in stone” and could obviously change if Giulia’s not cleared in time.
  • While it’s not final yet, Sports Business Journal reports that TNT is not currently a part of the NBA’s plans after their current rights deal with Warner Bros Discovery expires following the 2024-2025 season. While there’s no consensus on how that would impact AEW, The Athletic’s senior sports media columnist Andrew Marchand responded to a follower who asked that question with, “if WBD Sports loses NBA, I expect them to use the billions to make moves and retain their programming.”
  • AEW hoped to have Miro back this spring but his recovery from a shoulder injury is behind schedule, according to Fightful Select. There’s no word on an updated timetable for Miro’s return.
  • The Bump is going on a five-week hiatus, says WrestleVotes. The break is so the YouTube show can move to WWE’s new headquarters. The Bump’s July 3 episode will be taped at the new facility.
  • After Tay Melo posted on Monday about getting back in the ring for the first time since giving birth to her daughter, Fightful Select confirmed that Melo is training again but reports they haven’t heard of any imminent plans for to return to AEW.
