Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.

Important reminder: Rumors are just that — rumors. None of this has been confirmed as fact, it’s just circulating around the pro wrestling rumor mill. We track rumor accuracy in a weekly feature called Rumor Look Back you can find here. Remember, take it all with a grain of salt.

Rumors for the Day:

  • On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer mentioned that while he hasn’t heard details on why Goldberg never actually went to AEW he did say that his “asking price is really high.”
  • Meltzer also said he knows that AEW is “looking at people whose contracts are up” in regards to new free agent signings, even with giving big money deals to the likes of Mercedes Mone and Okada.
  • According to Fightful Select, more wrestlers will be declaring for the King and Queen of the Ring tournaments in lieu of WWE simply announcing them.
  • GUNTHER and Ludwig Kaiser are “tentatively” set to stick together after Giovanni Vinci was kicked out of Imperium, says Fightful.
  • Robert Stone was working as a producer for NXT starting on this week’s episode, says Fightful Select.
