Richard Williams: Venus Williams loves kids but I don’t think she’ll have kids

Richard Williams says his daughter Venus Williams “loves kids” but doesn’t think that the seven-time Grand Slam champion will ever start a family of her own.

Serena Williams, 41, is married and has a five-year-old daughter Olympia.

In August, Serena revealed she and her husband were planning on expanding their family.

In an interview with The U.S. Sun, dad Richard confirmed Serena is planning to have more kids.

But when it comes to 42-year-old Venus, dad Richard thinks she will never have kids and also hinted she will in the near future quit pro tennis.

“I don’t think so, no I really don’t think so. She really loves kids, but I don’t think she’ll have kids. [And] I think she could be quitting [tennis] very soon,” Richard Williams told the U.S. Sun, when asked if Venus could follow Serena’s path and have a family on her own.

Venus Williams unfortunately withdrew from the Australian Open

After playing just four tournaments in 2022, Venus Williams clinched her first win since 2021 Wimbledon after beating Katie Volynets 7-6 (4) 6-2 in the Auckland first round.

“This is one of my favorite places to come, I was so excited that I made it here. I’m happy to get a win today against a great opponent,” Williams said after the match.

After beating Volynets, Williams was beaten by Zhu Lin in the Auckland round-of-16.

Williams, who was awarded a main draw wildcard into the Australian Open, unfortunately sustained an injury in Auckland and was forced to return her Australian Open wildcard

“Venus Williams has withdrawn from the Australian Open due to an injury sustained at the ASB Classic in New Zealand. Australia’s Kim Birrell will be awarded her wildcard place,” the Australian Open’s statement from January 7th read.

In early February, Williams has a scheduled exhibition match against Danielle Collins in Dallas.
