Dawson Deaton was a 7th round pick in the 2022 NFL draft

The Cleveland Browns, like all teams, hope for close to miracles in the final two rounds of the NFL draft. The results the team got out of WR Donovan Peoples-Jones for a few years is more than a success story, it is the exception to the rule.

This year’s draft class has three players from the sixth and seventh rounds who are hoping to make it despite the long odds: LB Nathaniel Watson, CB Myles Harden (“a major value”) and DT Jowon Briggs.

After signing center Brian Allen earlier this week, one former late-round draft pick of the Browns, OL Dawson Deaton, won’t be getting another chance with the team that drafted him according to a report:

The team has not announced the move on their website as of the start of the Cleveland Cavaliers playoff game Thursday night but Wilson generally gets his information directly from the league’s transaction report.

Deaton has not seen the field in a regular season game since being drafted. He was released by Cleveland last July with an injury designation before being placed on injured reserve for the year.
