The Los Angeles Rams may be looking into adding running back Audric Estime through the draft. At least according to the tweet and information below. How accurate is this? I do not know. I’ll say that I asked whether or not LA should be interested in Estime or not. My rational is that he is from Notre Dame, so was Kyren Williams, and I wonder if LA might try to find another RB from the same program. Also, and this may have changed, I figured the Rams could get him on day two or day three. I don’t think any RB is expected to go in round one this year.

Did you watch the Matthew Stafford show yet?

Rams News: LA Prioritizes Defense In Fresh 7-Round Mock (si.com)

“Following the Latu pick, Anderson has the Rams going with Mi)chigan defensive interior lineman Kris Jenkins, South Carolina quarterback Spencer Rattler, Notre Dame running back Audric Estime, USC wide receiver Tahj Washington, LSU defensive interior lineman Mekhi Wingo, Illinois tight end Tip Reiman, Nebraska safety Omar Brown. Penn State Caedan Wallace, Ohio State linebacker Steele Chambers and Alabama kicker Will Reichard.

Selecting the right defenders will be crucial for the Rams as they lost their best player in franchise history and arguably the best player of this generation, Aaron Donald.

No one can ever replace Donald. However, if the Rams can repeat their draft success from last season this season, they’ll be just fine on defense with new defensive coordinator Chris Shula.”

Rams have a first-round pick for the first time since 2016, but there’s no guarantee they’ll use it (msn.com)

“Boldly adding a solid quarterback — and eventually trading that quarterback for Matthew Stafford — put McVay in position to lead the Rams back from irrelevance and into near-annual playoff contention. They’ve racked up six winning seasons, five playoff berths, three NFC West titles, two Super Bowl appearances and one championship since the most recent time they picked in the first round.

The Rams have been annual Thursday nonparticipants in the draft for several very good reasons, in fact: McVay probably wouldn’t have enjoyed all of his success without Snead’s judicious use of his first-round picks as capital for improving his team with veterans.”

“The consensus among scouts and drafter analysts is that Robinson is the third or fourth-best edge rusher in the class and that he should be taken in the mid-20s. He is regarded as a great athlete with a good toolbox blocker-beating techniques. However, his skill has never translated into the kind of production you’d like to see from such an athlete, with just 26 pressures and 4 sacks in 10 games last season.

He did have one of the better pass rush win rates in college football (20.9), but he wasn’t on the field as much as other elite pass rushers. One of the highest-producing edge rushers last year, Laiatu Latu, was used on pass rush snaps almost twice as much as Robinson. So his struggle to produce may be chalked up to Penn State’s misusage of him.”
