What are Raiders need areas now that draft is over?

We comings off of an extremely intriguing Las Vegas Raiders draft.

New general manager Tom Telesco went the best-available player route early, nabbing tight end Brock Bowers guard Jackson Powers-Johnson in the first two rounds. He then went the need route in the next two rounds with tackle Delmar Glaze and cornerback Decamerion Richardson.

Then, Telesco used most of his Day Three picks on developmental types. Remember, prior to the draft, Telesco said he thought the Raiders’ roster needed a little help everywhere.

Well, now that the draft is in the books, let’s look at some of their remaining needs. The Raiders, of course, got to work on their post-draft needs list by signing former Dallas wide receiver Michael Gallup on Monday evening and they worked out former Chargers’ receiver Jalen Guyton on Monday as well:

Cornerback:

This is probably the one position where the Raiders likely need to find a veteran starter. Yes, there is some intriguing young players, but the the Raiders would be well served to add an experienced starter to start opposite of Jack Jones and nickel Nate Hobbs.

Right tackle:

There is a strong chance the Raiders will give third-year player Thayer Munford every opportunity to win the starting job. He has responded well when given the chance. Still, the Raiders probably could use another depth piece on the offensive line.

Quarterback:

This may be for 2025 because what Las Vegas needs is a young quarterback. That’s kind of hard to find at this point, but the need is there. Not really sure they need another veteran. So, this may go unfilled for another year.

Defensive tackle:

They could use more youth and depth here after not addressing the position in the draft.
