ARAI INTRODUCES ALL-NEW DUAL-SPORT XD-5 HELMET

Arai Helmet, Inc. is introducing an all-new XD-5, a true multi-sport helmet. It’s time for a new adventure with the all-new XD-5. The XD-5 is a completely evolved helmet, packed with many exciting new features. As with everything from Arai, every update is made with a Priority For Protection. And this evolution of the XD series brings us ever closer to the ideal Arai shape for protection.

Of course, it’s not a typical Arai VX-Pro4 motocross helmet. But the XD-5 is still “dual sport” and can be used off-road, as demonstrated here. 

The XD-5 features an all-new shell that is rounder, stronger and smoother than before for even better “Glancing Off” performance. The forehead area of the shell is reinforced by a Super Fiber belt. Not only that, but the PB-cLc2 shell is meticulously assembled using an assortment of specific materials that make it not only strong but also lightweight. Each shell is handmade by experienced shell experts, carefully arranging each piece of material to create the XD-5 shell.

One of the biggest changes on the XD-5 is the new visor system. The new VAS-A visor system, derived from the VAS-V system developed for the Corsair-X, has been designed to maximize Glancing-Off performance, meaning more surface area to glance off impact energy while offering easy installation and removal of the visor and peak.

The XD-5 features Arai’s proven FCS cheek pad system with a 5mm peel-away that will give a firm fit both on- and off-road and the adjustability if thinner cheek pads are needed. Also the new redesigned cheek pad has a hook-and-loop fastener piece to allow for easier installation of communication system headphones in the ear-pocket.

Ventilation on an adventure helmet is key and the XD-5 has a completely revamped ventilation system. The XD-5 is the second model to feature the 3D logo duct, previously introduced on the Contour-X. Complemented by the new AR Spoiler and the latest iteration of the Delta Duct, the Delta Duct 6.
