The Tennessee Titans make the expected pick in Peter Schrager’s mock draft. What does it mean?

The NFL Network’s Peter Schrager typically submits one of the most accurate mock drafts on a yearly basis. That’s because Schrager actually spends weeks speaking with NFL general managers and head coaches in advance of releasing his projection. Schrager just released his 2024 NFL Mock Draft. To no surprise, Schrager has the Tennessee Titans selecting Notre Dame offensive tackle Joe Alt with the No. 7 overall selection.

“Standing nearly 6-foot-9 with nimble feet, the Notre Dame star is the son of former Pro Bowl OT John Alt, Schrager wrote. “Getting a towering protector for Will Levis’ blind side would be yet another chef’s kiss on what has been an incredible offseason for Tennessee.”

It’s no surprise that Schrager has the Titans taking Alt after polling several general managers and coaches around the league. Alt to the Titans is probably the second-most commonly mocked pick behind Caleb Williams at No. 1 overall at this point. The Titans possess a massive need for a plug-and-play left tackle.

Schrager does have some awesome surprises in his mock draft, such as the New York Giants trading up to No. 4 for Michigan quarterback J.J. McCarthy. In case you were wondering, Marvin Harrison Jr. and Rome Odunze were off the board before the Titans came on the clock. Schrager has the Titans passing on Malik Nabers, who lands with Tennessee’s AFC South rival Indianapolis Colts via a trade-up at No. 9. Let’s hope that doesn’t happen.
