There are still a couple of fish in the sea, but Carolina’s depth at this key position is frightening some fans

The results are in and, to no great surprise, Carolina Panthers fans are most concerned about the team’s collection of talent at cornerback. We asked you which position group worried you the most now that the dust from the 2024 NFL Draft and free agency has settled. 40% of y’all said corner, with another 21% still expressing your concerns with Bryce Young.

The quarterback questions are real, but certainly not at the top of my mind. This year is 100% a Young evaluation year. They are have built him the best ship they could manage and are going to give him at least 2024 to prove he can sail it. Cornerback is easily the most concerning non-QB position on the roster.

Jaycee Horn is a top flight corner in the NFL when healthy. He has played in 22 of a possible 51 NFL games since entering the league. Fan are justifiably in a “I’ll believe he can make a full season when I see it” mode with him. Dane Jackson has started only 28 out of the 52 games he appeared in, including five of 16 last season. He may be ready for a bigger role, but he hasn’t proven it yet. Meanwhile, Troy Hill, Dicaprio Bootle, and 2024 fifth round pick Chau Smith-Wade come with such descriptions as “surprisingly competent,” “promising,” and “unproven.”

The whole group could be fine, but being so requires a lot of bets paying off at the same time. In other words, the Panthers need to get lucky if they don’t intend to add anymore talent to this otherwise shallow pool.
