Nearly 50 percent of Green Bay fans think the team is going to make a change at defensive coordinator unless Joe Barry can bring home a Lombardi Trophy.

Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the NFL. Throughout the year we ask questions of the most plugged-in Green Bay Packers fans and fans across the country. Sign up here to participate in the weekly emailed surveys.

This week’s Packers Reacts results show the duality of Green Bay fans heading into their playoff matchup against the Dallas Cowboys. Let’s get into it.

Based on the first result, you’d think that Packers fans would be over the moon about all aspects of their team. With a 91 percent approval rating on the future of the franchise, you’d think there would be little to complain about with the squad.

And here is the other shoe: Nearly half of Packers fans think that defensive coordinator Joe Barry would need to lead Green Bay to the Super Bowl for him to hold onto his job going into 2024. Only about one in six Packers fans believe that he’s going to return to the team if Green Bay simply advances to the divisional round with a win against the Cowboys.

Currently, I’m not sure what to believe on the Barry front. He looked like he was a dead man walking after his unit gave up career games to Tommy DeVito, Baker Mayfield and Bryce Young in three consecutive weeks. In Week 17, though, he appeared to be given a game ball by head coach Matt LaFleur — who has consistently stood up for Barry in press conferences. In the season finale against the Chicago Bears, Barry’s defense didn’t give up a single touchdown.

All I can say here is that Barry is about as on the bubble as a coordinator can be heading into the Wild Card round. The narrative coming out of this game in Dallas will almost certainly impact his status with the team, one way or another.
