OM: Guendouzi at Aston Villa? The answer

on

OM would not have programmed the departure of Mattéo Guendouzi this winter. If the player seems to be negotiating with Aston Villa through his agents, Pablo Longoria would not have the intention of granting him an exit voucher. Unless an XXL offer is sent…

Matteo Guendouzi OM

According to information obtained by The Team, Mattéo Guendouzi is in contact with the leaders of Aston Villa, with a view to a possible transfer. The midfielder is said to be a big hit with Villans scouts, as well as their coach, Unai Emery. The operation is however far from certain.

Mattéo Guendouzi has a contract with OM which runs until June 2025. The 23-year-old player is therefore not free to move. His departure from Marseille is also badly off to the extent that the Marseille leaders have not planned to let him go this winter. The daily specifies that only an off-market offer could make them think. But it is not clear that the Villans club is ready to splurge this January.

OM only spent €11 million to recruit him

The native of Poissy has again become an indisputable holder, in the team of Igor Tudor. The player is aligned a little higher than his training position (midfielder). This allows him to make more of a difference: the former Gunner has scored 4 goals and delivered 4 assists in 25 appearances this season.

As a reminder, OM had obtained the reinforcement of Mattéo Guendouzi through a loan with option to buy. The Marseille leaders finally spent 11 million euros to secure his final services last summer. An amount that seems far below the value of the player, who participated in the World Cup with the France team.

The Marseille leaders are looking for their second recruit, after the signing of Ruslan Malinovskyi (ex-Atalanta). Pablo Longoria and Javier Ribalta seem to have a good budget to improve Igor Tudor’s squad.
