OG Yuragi Moved to Inactive Roster in Latest Change

on

After a little over 2 years, OG Yuragi has been moved to the team’s inactive roster. It’s been a difficult couple of years for OG since their whole roster changed. And since then, they’ve struggled to find a consistent roster and the success that often follows that. Now, it seems they’re in for another change.

Artem “Yuragi” Golubiev has played a really significant role on OG. After playing for NOVA and Team Unique in previous years, he really burst onto the division 1 scene as one of the most successful position 1 players. Initially, things were looking good. OG took home the trophies at the ESL One Malaysia and ESL Stockholm Major in 2022. But there have been multiple roster changes since then, resulting in the team struggling to find synergy.

Can OG find synergy again?

OG still has perhaps the most legendary legacies in Dota 2. After all, they’re still the only team to have ever won The International twice consecutively. But long careers and burn out saw the end of the classic line up headed by NoTail and Ceb.

This next step means OG will have to replace their position one for the first time in over 2 years. OG did not provide a reason for the change in their official announcement made on X but already, the rumor mill is underway.

Some carry players have still not found a home after the post-TI Dota 2 roster shuffle. There is speculation about former Tundra carry Timado joining the roster. Regardless of who is next to join the team, they’ll have some big shoes to fill and a lot of pressure to bring OG back to the very top level of Dota.

Now that DreamLeague season 22 is only 5 days away, there is probably already someone waiting in the wings. We won’t have to wait long to find out who will don the jersey next, even temporarily.

What’s next for OG Yuragi?

Yuragi himself has not yet commented on the change and with no reason for his departure confirmed, it’s unclear whether he’ll be on the hunt for another team. It’s not uncommon for Dota 2 players to drop in and out of retirement and come back for one last ride so even if he does step away from pro Dota for the time being, fans hopefully won’t be disappointed for too long.
