WWE NXT returns to the road for Vengeance Day! The premium live event streams tonight (Sat., Feb. 4, 2023) at 8pm ET on Peacock and WWE Network!

CagesideSeats.com will provide LIVE blow-by-blow, match-by-match coverage of NXT Vengeance Day below, beginning with the first match of the evening and right on through to the main event.

WWE NXT VENGEANCE DAY LIVE BLOG & MATCH COVERAGE

I tried but I could not find a way, looking back all I did was look away. Next time is the best we all know, but if there is no next time, well I guess I’ll just have to keep liveblogging this here pro wrestling show for you, folks.

The show opens with Charlotte Flair hosting a video package about NXT getting back on the road wherein she puts tonight’s principal competitors over.

Donovan Dijak vs. Wes Lee (c) (NXT North American Championship)

Collar and elbow, Dijak shoves Lee away but he pops right back up! Go-behind, side headlock, wrenching it in, body blows open the door to shooting him off and Donovan lands a shoulder! He demands Wes give him the title and Lee takes a breather before laying down… AND LANDING AN UPKICK!

Off the ropes, using his speed, tijeras into the corner, waistlock, Dijak blocks with an elbow but Wes hangs onto the hold. Shrugged off in the corner, back body drop to the apron, slingshot into a tijeras and Donovan goes hard into the turnbuckles and crashes to the floor!

Dropkick through the ropes, Lee off the apron but he gets caught… DEATH VALLEY DRIVER ON THE FLOOR! Back inside, cover for two! Punches into another cover and another nearfall, putting boots to the champion, choking him in the ropes! Back elbows in the corner follow, hamhock sledges, and a tossing suplex… NOPE!

Off the ropes, crossbody, Dijak catches him, knee to the ribs and he chucks Wes out of the ring like a side of beef! Back in the ring, cover but Lee still won’t stay down! Stomping a mudhole in him in the corner, Donovan wipes the sweat off his brow before drawing him back up for more vicious forearms and elbows in the corner!

Whip across, big back elbow, sidestep the charge and Dijak goes crashing to the floor! Lee powers up, body blows in the corner, whip reversed but he explodes out of the corner with a basement dropkick, follows it with a crescent kick, German suplex denied but an enzuigiri softens Dijak up… WES LEE GERMAN SUPLEXES THE BIG MAN FOR TWO!

To the apron, trading punches, Lee with a back body drop! Off the ropes, Sasuke Special wipes Dijak out! Slingshot back in, Donovan catches him, Feast Your Eyes reversed into a Poison Frankensteiner! Following it up with a fisherman’s Michinoku Driver… STILL NO! Up top, nobody home on the 450 splash!

Superkick connects, springboard caught, goozle… DIJAK WITH A RUNNING SITOUT CHOKESLAM BUT HE STILL CAN’T KEEP WES LEE DOWN! Backhammer chinlock, Wes fading, he tries to fight out but gets taken to the mat, fading, eyes closing, referee with the hand check but Lee ain’t out of it yet!

Rolling over to seated, posting up on his feet, almost to the ropes but Donovan changes gears, backbreaker rack, Feast Your Eyes… COUNTERED INTO A SCHOOLBOY FOR TWO! Chokeslam, Lee rolls out of it and pastes him with a kick! Dijak smiling, he wants more, Wes hits a Shining Wizard!

Off the ropes, Cyclone Kill… WES LEE SIMPLY WILL NOT BE BEATEN! Superkick from the big man, falling lariat, cover… STILL NO! Headed up top, pulling Wes up with him… AVALANCHE POWERBOMB JUST BARELY REVERSED INTO A SPIKE FRANKENSTEINER! Lee off the top with a corkscrew senton atomico… DONOVAN DIJAK KICKS OUT!

Dijak to the floor, Wes with a suicide dive but Donovan sidesteps! Grabbing an office chair, he rolls it into the aisle and sit Lee into it! He grabs a broom and slides it under the armrests to trap the champion and hits a superkick! Up top, referee Darryl Sharma admonishing him, Dijak perches, Tony D’Angelo and Stacks appear to shove Lee out of the way and Donovan moonsaults into them instead!

Back inside, Lee with a back handspring…

Wes Lee wins by pinfall with a back handspring Pele Kick, retaining the NXT North American Championship.


We get a Cora Jade hype reel and an ad for WWE 2K23.

Katana Chance and Kayden Carter are interviewed backstage.

They don’t care about Fallon Henley and Kiana James’ personal drama, they’re just going to do what they do best and win.

Fallon Henley & Kiana James vs. Katana Chance & Kayden Carter (c) (NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship)

James and Carter to start, Brooks Jensen with the pep talks, Kiana finds herself isolated by double-teams and nearly taken care of early. Henley tags in and gets rocked and finds herself on the back foot herself in short order. Leg drop / splash combo gets a nearfall and Fallon gets away for the tag!

James with a back suplex for two, hard whip, putting boots to Chance, back handspring shoulder block and a tag from Henley. Spin-out X-Factor for two, grinding her down with an arm-trap choke but Katana fights over and gets the tag! Carter in hot, stacking ‘em up in the corner and crushing ‘em!

Kiana back in, cover for two, tag to Henly, blockbuster and a powerbomb / Michinoku Driver double-team for two! James gets Carter on the floor, moonsault comes up empty but Kayden hits an Ace Crusher off the apron! Fallon in hostile territory on the apron, Kayden wants a deadlift superplex but Henley heads her off at the pass with a headbutt! Trading strikes, Chance with a blind tag!

Katana climbs up… AVALANCHE FRANKENSTEINER CAN’T QUITE DO IT! Kiana shoves Chance off the top after a tag, Henley kicks out of a victory roll, Gedo Clutch, Kiana is holding Kayden’s feet…

Fallon Henley & Kiana James win by pinfall with a Gedo Clutch and some skullduggery, becoming your new NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions.


A JD McDonagh hype reel follows.

And then a Nikkita Lyons vignette about how patience is overrated and also she’s a lion? I dunno.

We get an Instagram promo of Drew Gulak explaining to Hank Walker how to handle high fliers and demanding he get himself some proper ring gear, because he’s building a superstar, not a house.

Apollo Crews vs. Carmelo Hayes (2/3 Falls Match)

Waistlock, roll through, Crews shifts to a wristlock, Hayes reverses, stalemate! Front chancery, Carmelo fighting but Apollo stays on him. Armbar takedown attempt, Crews gets away! Apollo back in with a headlock, headscissors reversal, Hayes with a slap across his face and Crews returns one that takes Melo off his feet!

Side headlock, shot off, another stalemate. Hayes off the ropes, leapfrog, drop down, dropkick sidestepped! Carmelo goes for a dropkick, gets caught and catapulted into the corner but he lands on his feet! Springboard crossbody cut out of midair! Back and forth, Melo goes for a springboard and gets caught into a German suplex!

Fighting out of a followup, throwing Crews to the apron, baseball slide leapt over, Trick Williams gets in Apollo’s face and Hayes goes for a dive, nobody home! Apollo with a lariat and then an Asai moonsault leaves both men down and out! Back inside, Crews warns Trick off from using a chair, gets Hayes up in a delayed vertical and makes him think about it before landing the suplex for two!

Carmelo turns him around and smashes his face into the mat over and over and follows it up with a grounded neck crank! Off the ropes, duck a lariat, Hot Shot puts Apollo into the ropes, cover… NOPE! Trading punches, short-arm lariat from Melo but Crews comes back with a series of rolling German suplexes!

Hayes lands on his feet on the third, inverted facelock reversed into a back body drop! Crews with a pump kick, a lariat, another lariat, whip across, Carmelo counters, Apollo counters, big lariat from Crews and a kip-up! Charging in, Stinger Splash, whip acrossback body drop, right hand gets an enzuigiri and Melo is glassy-eyed on the apron!

Apollo with a deadlift superplex… BUT STILL HAYES KICKS OUT! Crossface countered, roll through, pin for two! Front kick gets La Mistica, Hayes rolls him over but still Crews kicks out! Suplex lift into an Ace Crusher, no deal, arm-trap crossface applied! Pulling back, wrenching it in…

Carmelo Hayes wins the first fall by submission with an arm-trap crossface, going 1-0.

Hayes taking advantage of the momentum, smashing Crews’ face into the top rope, front chancery reversed, big back suplex, roll into a German suplex, and then into a second German suplex, standing shooting star press… NOT ENOUGH! Up top, gamengiri and a kick to the kidney, Fade Away, dragging Apollo in… STILL NO!

Off the ropes… APOLLO HITS AN ESSEX DESTROYER! Crews bleeding from the bridge of his nose, going up top, Melo cuts him off, trading chops, and both men end up crashing to the floor! Hayes beats the count… CREWS IN AT NINE! Waistlock, Carmelo shrugs him off, knee strike connects, wheelbarrow countered, Olympic Slam from Apollo!

Codebreaker from Hayes, Crews pops him up and drops him! Trick Willams gets up on the apron and pulls a turnbuckle pad off! Chops and punches, Crews windmilling in the corner, hard whip into the exposed turnbuckle! Babatunde Commander Azeez Dabba Kato runs in and pulls Williams off the apron, flying forearm from Hayes!

Melo off the top…

Carmelo Hayes wins the second fall by pinfall with Nothin’ But Net, going 2-0 and sweeping Apollo Crews.

Post-match, Kato pulls Crews up to his feet and hugs him before dropping him with a headbutt! He kicks a chair into place… CHOKEBOMB ON THE CHAIR!


We get a social media promo about Valentina Feroz accepting Lyra Valkyria’s challenge with

Wendy Choo to be in her corner.

Backstage the new women’s tag champs are celebrating with Briggs and Jensen and agree to go drinking.

Chase U (Andre Chase & Duke Hudson) vs. Gallus (Mark Coffey & Wolfgang) vs. New Day (Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods) (c) vs. Pretty Deadly (Elton Prince & Kit Wilson) (NXT Tag Team Championship)

Prince and Kingston to start, off the ropes, tijeras, blind tag from Woods in there and the champs are on a roll! Pretty Deadly end up piggyback on floor throwing scary fingers and Kofi baseball slides them! Thea Hail screams in their face and Xavier follows it with a wrecking ball dropkick!

Back inside, front chancery, vertical suplex, Hudson tags in with the assist! Arm wringer, short-arm shoulder blocks, tag to Chase and an elbow drop. Spinning atomic drop, blind tag from Wilson, Manhattan Drop is a teachable moment, off the ropes, blind tag from Coffey!

Wolfgang tags in, elbow to the kidneys, overhead arm drag, quick tags ensue with Wilson in the danger zone. Woods tags in, laying forearms and bati-bati palm strikes in, off the ropes, kitchen sink knee tags him out! Wolfgang tags in, Prince immediately tags him out and puts boots to Xavier!

Pretty Deadly working him over, eventually Woods clears an opening and tags Kingston back in! Cleaning house with elbows and sledges, big dropkick, off the ropes, leaping lariat! Duck a lariat, one for Wilson too! Mark Coffey eats one also! Three of ‘em down and out, New Day Boom Drop connects!

SOS follows but Wilson breaks it up! Into a spot of “everybody do something cool” as the match breaks down, Elton with a fireman’s carry and he drops it into a double knee gutbuster from Kit that can’t keep Kofi down! Back suplex, Kingston lands on his feet, back body drop puts Wilson on the floor, boots up for Prince!

Tag to Woods, backbreaker and the double stomp… EVERYBODY BREAKS IT UP! Everybody ends up down on the floor but Chase and Wilson, Kit drops him with a Shotei and they jockey for position in the turnbuckles… ANDRE CHASE SUPERPLEX TO THE FLOOR AND INTO THE CRUSH!

Hudson cleaning house on the floor, clearing the announce desk but Kit blasts him with a flying uppercut and Elton puts boots to him! Pretty Deadly hook him for a double suplex but he reverses and Prince saves his pal from a powerbomb! Throwing Duke into the apron, they put the cover back on the table like good citizens!

Back in the ring, Hudson fighting hard, flying shoulder block for Coffey! To the floor and Gallus slam Duke through the announce table! Chase’s turn now, fighting valiantly against Gallus, side Russian legsweep on Mark and the C-H-A-S-E-U stomps follow! Andre up top, diving crossbody… NOT ENOUGH!

Spinning toehold into the figure four leglock in the middle of the ring! Coffey crawling, desperate, but Wolfgang breaks it up with a senton atomico! Picking him up, enzuigiri-assisted bodyslam… CHASE KICKS OUT AT ONE! Scoop him up, Kingston with a blind tag, sending Gallus packing!

Up top, trust fall senton into Pretty Deadly, but they catch him and take him out with Spilt Milk on the floor! Woods clears the apron, big elbow for Mark, he goes up top, walking the ropes, Wolfgang counters Limit Breaker and Gallus get him…

Gallus win by pinfall with the enzuigiri / bodyslam combination on Xavier Woods, becoming your new NXT Tag Team Champions.


We get a replay of the close analysis of the parking lot footage from the attack on Nikkita Lyons.

We see Grayson Waller shadowboxing backstage ahead of our main event.

Gigi Dolin vs. Jacy Jayne vs. Roxanne Perez (c) (NXT Women’s Championship)

Toxics surrounding Perez but she throws the first strike, forearms and uppercuts, Jayne traps her arms and the two of them descend! Double-team Stroke, taunting, Roxanne fighting back with punches, double whip sets up a crossbody, Dolin picks her up, backbreaker and Jacy sends her to the floor with a boot!

Gigi out after her, throwing her back in, Perez ducks a pump kick, O’Connor roll and right into a Lou Thesz Press on Dolin on the kickout! Jacy trips her into the ropes, lining her up, going for kicks, Roxanne rolls away and Jayne barely stops herself short of kicking her pal!

Perez with a double dropkick, some breathing room, arm wringer sets up a front kick, Roxanne with an Arabian Press double arm drag that sends the Toxics to the floor! Off the ropes, suicide dive takes Gigi out, Jacy off the apron with a cannonball but Roxanne isn’t ther and she takes Dolin out instead!

Back inside, Jacy with a neckbreaker into mounted punches, Roxanne turtling up, eventually she puts Jayne on the floor again and dives but Dolin pulls her pal into harm’s way! Gigi running roughshod on the champ, putting her on the apron, Perez with punches but she gets caught by an STO on the apron!

In the ring, back suplex but Jacy pulls Gigi off of the cover! Trying to steal it, Dolin breaks it up and the alliance is breaking down! Jawing at each other, a shoving match breaks out, trading slaps across the face! Off the ropes, Jayne with a double leg, trading sunset flips, Roxanne off the top with a crossbody!

Uppercuts in the corners, Perez trying to stay on them, side Russian legsweep / DDT combo takes both women down, cover fon Jacy… NOPE! One for Gigi, same result! Jayne stacks Roxanne atop Dolin in the Tree of Woe and hits a handspring heel kick! Basement superkick, running knee… GIGI BREAKS IT UP!

Jacy drops her with an elbow, crotch chop, Perez with an inside cradle and then a crucifix but she can’t put her away! Whip into the corner, back elbow, duck a rolling elbow, superkick from the champ sets Pop Rox up but Dolin is right there to lay her out! Roundhouse kick for Jacy, bridging straight suplex for Perez… JAYNE BREAKS IT UP!

All three women down and out, on their knees and throwing hands, they end up knocked out in a pile, accidental cover… BUT IT AIN’T OVER YET! Toxics trying to get back on the same page, dumping Roxanne out on the floor and getting a table out from under the ring!

Setting it up, but Perez hits Pop Rox on Gigi on the floor! Jacy cuts her off, Roxanne rams her into the apron a few times, taking her up top, jockeying for position, Dolin recovers and tries to join the fray and gets kicked through the table on the floor! Perez takes the initiative…

Roxanne Perez wins by pinfall with an avalanche Pop Rox to retain the NXT Women’s Championship.
