The “Rated R Superstar” Adam Copeland suffered his first defeat in AEW two weeks ago in a TNT title match against Christian Cage. The finish of the match saw Shayna Wayne strike Copeland with the TNT title, directly leading to Christian’s pin fall victory.
On tonight’s (Dec. 23) episode of Collision, Christian brought out Shayna to explain her actions. It’s simple; she watched Copeland strike her son Nick in the head with a steel chair via conchairto, so she did what any loving mother would do in response. Shayna now stands by the side of the one man (Christian) who loves her son just as much as she does:

After Shayna was done talking, Christian looked at her and said he scored victory in more than one way that night. With the matriarch by his side, Christian accepted Copeland’s challenge for a No Disqualification TNT title match at the Worlds End pay-per-view on Dec. 30.
