The former head coach was excited to see Burton selected by Cincinnati.

Duke Tobin and the Cincinnati Bengals front office have given Joe Burrow another weapon after selecting Alabama’s Jermaine Burton in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft.

Burton was a solid playmaker for the Crimson Tide, averaging over 18 yards per catch since 2021.

The film is stellar for the newest Bengal weapon, but there have been some off-the-field issues for Burton, which is why he fell as far as he did on the team’s big boards.

Burton was coached by the greatest to do it in Nick Saban, and his former head coach had some wise words after hearing his name called…

“Emotional maturity is the best way to say it… Do the right things all the time… There is a difference between playing with emotion and being emotional. When you get emotional, you make bad decisions and lose your brain,” Saban stated.

Zac Taylor has made it his mission to create a winning culture both on the field and in the locker room.

There have been some jabs toward that culture with a few trade requests, but Burton couldn’t have landed at a better spot than Cincinnati with quarterback Joe Burrow and wide receiver coach Troy Walters.
