Nick Kyrgios’ brutally honest message to those having issues with his behavior

on

Nick Kyrgios reveals he has always had a hard time understanding why some people have so many issues with his on-court behavior when his antics happen just because he cares and wants to win.

Kyrgios, now 28, became well-known for his outbursts and meltdowns very early in his career. While some think Kyrgios’ fiery and at times very explosive temper brings something different to the game, some just don’t like when he smashes a racket or verbally reveals his true feelings and thoughts on a certain situation or moment.

Although Kyrgios has been one of the most criticized players over the last decade, his game and personality also made him one of the most popular and entertaining players to watch. Over the last few years, Kyrgios’ reputation and image have improved for the better.

Earlier this month, it was announced that Kyrgios was joining forces with Naomi Osaka’s production company Hana Kuma to launch “Good Trouble with Nick Kyrgios.” In the first episode of the series, Kyrgios’ guest was famed British chef Gordon Ramsay. During their conversation, Kyrgios candidly addressed his image and reputation.

Kyrgios: I never understand people that say that I was taking it too far

“It’s just passion, like when I get angry on the court, I’m not doing it because I’m mad at someone else. I’m just upset ‘cause I know that I can do better,” Kyrgios said on the series.

“But for me, when I take it too far, in the tennis world, swearing, for instance, is frowned upon. Well, I don’t even think I take it too far at times. Obviously, if I smash a racket, yeah, whatever for the youth that are looking up, but it’s just passionate at the end of the day.

“For me, I’m trying to get the best out of myself, but I never understand people that say that I was taking it too far. It’s like I’m just passionate about what I do—hours and hours on end, the years that I’ve put into this—and I’m not playing the way I want to be playing,”

Meanwhile, Kyrgios has been out of action for quite some time. Last year, Kyrgios was limited to just one tournament due to knee and wrist injuries.

At the start of this season, Kyrgios is still out due to his ongoing wrist injury. If everything goes well, Kyrgios hopes to play again around the grass season.
