Not as early as we had thought

It appears that we’re going to have to wait just a bit longer for the 2024 NFL schedule than we had originally thought.

The National Football League has just announced that the release of this season’s schedule will be happening on 15 May, which is one week from tomorrow, at 7:00 PM Central time. It appears, according to Ben Fischer of the Sports Business Journal, that the teams were, in fact, expecting the schedule to be released this coming Thursday, but that is officially not happening.

Again, if past seasons are any indication, we will know the date and time of the Minnesota Vikings’ game that is part of this year’s International Series in London, as the league has generally announced those games ahead of the larger schedule release. There will also, undoubtedly, be all sorts of rumors floating around as to what the schedule is going to look like and the league will likely be announcing some of the bigger games on the schedule as well.

There’s a pretty good chance that we’ll be doing a live hit of Vikings Report with Drew and Ted next Wednesday to talk about the release of the schedule. More on that as we get closer to the release actually happening.

So, we apologize for saying that the schedule release was going to be happening this week, even though that’s apparently the impression that pretty much everyone else was under, too. Instead, we know have a definitive date and time for when the 2024 NFL regular season schedule will be finalized.
