Good morning Gang Green Nation! With the release of the NFL schedule comes the annual fun but fruitless exercise of picking the game by game results for every game of the season. There are so many moving parts in an NFL season that it is all but impossible to predict the results of any game this far out. Factor in the fact that every year nearly every team beats teams they “shouldn’t” beat and loses to teams they “shouldn’t” lose to. Then factor in the inevitability of injuries, and the impossibility of predicting who will be injured and when they will be out. Then throw in a substantial dollop of random chance, which factors into every game. Those are just a few of countless unquantifiable variables that make predicting game by game results in May an exercise in futility. Nonetheless, it’s fun to try to get these things nailed down and see how well you can see into the future of the Jets. This year it’s extra fun because the Jets actually have a very good roster, at least on paper, so predictions are coming in for a very successful Jets season. Some people are going so far as to call the Jets roster the best in the NFL, and others are predicting a Super Bowl victory. That seems a bit much, but hey, anything’s possible in May. If some of these predictions are even close to accurate we may be in for a really fun Jets season for a welcome change.
