Bringing your daily links to the NFL’s New York Jets
Good morning Gang Green Nation! Big news for the New York Jets came down late last night as the Jets announced they were signing former Dallas Cowboys star left tackle Tyron Smith. When healthy Smith is one of the best tackles in the game. Unfortunately Smith has had trouble staying on the field. He has missed more games than he’s played over the last four years. On the other hand, there is word out of Dallas that Smith found a new health regimen last year that helped him play 13 games in 2023, more games than he’s played in any season since 2019. This signing obviously entails a certain degree of risk beyond that of most players, but it also entails a much higher reward if Smith can manage to stay healthy most of the season. I think going into the 2024 season you have to expect Smith will miss some time. How much time missed will be a major key to the Jets’ chances this season. If the Jets can squeeze another 13 games out of Smith in 2024, that would be a huge win.
