After about three months of silence, the TGL League is back in the spotlight. The last time we talked about it was due to the collapse of the structure, under construction, intended to host the events of the creation of TMRW Sports. Well, things are starting again from there.

According to reports from Sports Business Journal, the leaders of TMRW have prepared a new project, opting for a steel structure instead of the inflatable one that collapsed last November.
Mike McCarley, co-founder of TMRW Sports, presented the project to the Palm Beach State College Board of Trustees, whose approval is necessary to start construction.
This week, the TMRW Board vote is expected, which is equally important, as the budget for the works must undergo a drastic increase, from the $11 million needed for the old structure to the $50 million to finance the new, sturdier one.
The new SoFi Center, the new home of the TGL League, will occupy an area of approximately 250,000 square meters and has been designed to withstand Category 5 hurricanes (the previous one only reached Category 4).
A spokesperson for TMRW Sports stated: “Our goal is to create a venue that both the Board and all the communities of Palm Beach, as well as our fans and partners, can enjoy in the years to come.”
TGL, or The Golf League, is a planned golf league created by TMRW Sports, a venture formed by sports executive Mike McCarley and professional golfers Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy in partnership with the PGA Tour. Originally slated to launch in 2024, its debut was postponed until 2025 due to construction delays caused by a power failure at the host arena.
The league’s concept involves six teams, each comprising three PGA Tour players, competing head-to-head in 18-hole match play on a virtual course with a special short game area. The regular season is set to consist of fifteen matches, each lasting two hours and played in primetime on Monday and Tuesday nights. Semi-finals and a final match will culminate the season.
Notable initial investors in TGL include NBA players Stephen Curry, Andre Iguodala, Shaquille O’Neal, Dwyane Wade, Kevin Durant, Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton, soccer player Alex Morgan, MLB players Shohei Ohtani and Mike Trout, Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen, tennis player Serena Williams, and WNBA player Diana Taurasi. Additionally, pop artist Justin Timberlake, Fanatics CEO Michael Rubin, and Liberty Media CEO Greg Maffei are among other investors.
