NETHERLANDS: TOP SCORERS- BRINKMAN ON A HUNDRED GOALS FOR BLOEMENDAAL

on

There were few changes at the top of the shooter rankings in the Tulp Hoofdklasse and Promotional Class last weekend. However, a few players entered the sub-top with a spot, such as Amsterdam attacker Fiona Morgenstern and Bloemendaal captain Thierry Brinkman.

Tulp Hoofdklasse Ladies

The top five players on the top scorers list of the Tulp Hoofdklasse Dames all added one goal to their total. As a result, nothing changed in the mutual relationships at the top of the rankings.

A notable climber on the top scorers list is Fiona Morgenstern. The Amsterdam striker scored twice in the away match against HDM (2-7 win) last Saturday, reaching double figures for the first time in her major league career (ten goals). Morgenstern also provided two assists against HDM and was therefore directly involved in four of the seven Amsterdam goals.

With one goal in the 7-1 loss in the Classic against Bloemendaal, Amsterdam striker Boris Burkhardt reduced the deficit to Jip Janssen to two goals. Janssen failed to score for Kampong last weekend and was left with twenty goals.

In the sub-top, Timo Boers (Den Bosch) and Thierry Brinkman (Bloemendaal) did good business by each scoring twice. For Brinkman, his second goal of the afternoon against Amsterdam had a silver lining: it was his hundredth competition goal in nine seasons for the  Mussen . No fewer than 95 of them were field goals. The others came from penalty corners.

Women’s Promotion Class

There was hardly any movement at the top of the top scorer list of the Promotion Class last Sunday. Only Lise Bom from Ring Pass was able to add a goal to her total: she now has nine goals. In any case, the seventeenth round provided little spectacle with a total of only fourteen hits. Five of these were commendable at Nijmegen-Ring Pass alone.

Men’s Promotion Class

The best shooters of the Men’s Promotion Class showed exceptional shooting skills last Sunday. Indra Aerts (Hurley) is still the leader after seventeen rounds: he increased his production to eighteen with one goal against Gooische (7-2 win). Noud Borsten, Push’s penalty corner specialist, reduced the deficit to Aerts to one goal after his two goals in the home game against Victoria (4-0).

Behind this duo, Stijn Draaijer (Ede), Hjalmar Voskuil (Hurley), Tijn Stuve (Nijmegen) and Mats Dicke (Cartouche) also scored, so that in the final phase of the competition the battle for the top scorer title will become urgent.
