After 16 years, a new string of victories arrives on the LPGA Tour. Nelly Korda, in Nevada, clinched her fourth consecutive win, a feat not seen since 2008 when Mexican golfer Lorena Ochoa achieved the same streak.

Looking back a staggering 46 years, the last time an American pro achieved four consecutive victories was Nancy Lopez in 1978.
Nelly Korda dominated the T-Mobile Match Play held at Shadow Creek Golf Course in Las Vegas. The 25-year-old from Bradenton, Florida, won all her matches, defeating Angel Yin (3&2) in the quarterfinals, Narin An (4&3) in the semifinals, and decisively defeating Maguire (4&3) in the final.
For Nelly, it marks her 12th career victory, including a Major title, the 2021 Women’s PGA Championship. It’s almost a given to say that the American is at the top of the world rankings.
Less obvious is to remember that with this fourth victory in 2024, Nelly Korda surpassed the million-dollar mark earned in a single season, bringing her career earnings to ten million dollars.
She turned professional in 2016, making her debut on the Symetra Tour, where she clinched her first victory at the Sioux Falls GreatLIFE Challenge. Her impressive rounds of 68-67-69-66 secured her triumph over Thai golfer Meechai.
In 2021, she kicked off the year by winning the Gainbridge LPGA in Orlando at the Lake Nona Golf & Country Club (par 72). Her total score of 272 (-16) strokes outpaced competitors, including Thompson and Ko in second place, and South Korean world number 1 Ko in third.
The following June, she secured her first major victory at the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship. This triumph propelled her to the top of the world rankings, marking the first time an American topped the rankings since Lewis in 2014, and ending the dominance of South Korean female golfers. Her achievement also earned her qualification for the individual tournament at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, where she represented the United States alongside other notable players.
On August 7, she claimed the Olympic gold medal at the Kasumigaseki Country Club in Kawagoe, finishing the event with 267 strokes, 17 under par. After an impressive second round of 62 strokes, she maintained her lead in the final rounds, fending off challenges from Japanese player Inami and New Zealander Ko, who finished the tournament with 268 shots.
