The Monmouth University men’s tennis team start to the season so far has been truly exceptional. The results were also reflected in the awards to the student athletes.
Monmouth University men’s tennis student-athletes Gabriel Busato and Diego Laporta have been recognized as the CAA Tennis Men’s Doubles Team of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday.

Coach Chris Leicht talked about his players in the exclusive interview he granted for Tennis World USA (here you can read the full interview).
“We have six new players this spring who all have been major contributors to our team’s success. Mateo Bivol has stepped into the top spot and been amazing, including clinching the match over nationally ranked William & Mary. Also, Adam Hillerby is undefeated with a perfect record this year. We have also had big contributions from freshman Gabe Berner and sophomore transfer Alex Martinez Sanz,” explained Leicht.
