“I am so excited for our program to achieve a national ranking. We are ready to bring Monmouth tennis to the national stage alongside the best teams in the region and the country.”
With these words, Monmouth University men’s tennis coach Chris Leicht commented on the ITA national rankings for March 5, which sees the Hawks at No.70. The Hawks are one of three CAA teams in the Top-75 poll, behind No. 40 Delaware and ahead of No. 74 the Tribe.
Congratulations to @MonmouthMTennis on earning an ITA National Team Ranking!

This is Monmouth’s second-ever appearance in the polls. Hawks best ranking is No. 56, in 2022. This year, Monmouth began the season with six straight wins and currently owns an 8-2 mark, following a 4-3 win over William & Mary.
Mateo Bivol got the CAA Player of the Week
However, not only team records, but also personal milestones. In fact, junior Mateo Bivol was recognized as the CAA Men’s Tennis Player of the Week.
Bivol closed out last week with a three-set singles win in the Hawks’ win over William & Mary on Sunday afternoon. French native Bivol (born in Cesta) lost the first set before winning the second 7-5, and clinched the deciding point with a 6-3 triumph in the third, giving Monmouth the win.
He won the clinching match in the @MonmouthMTennis victory over nationally-ranked William & Mary!

We remember the Monmouth University men’s tennis team will return to play Friday in Cumberland, RI, to take on Bryant.
