Mizuno, new range of putters with high profile

on

New year new gear… Isn’t it? Maybe not for everyone but certainly thinking about some clubs, such as drivers or putters, can be an excellent idea to start the new year with an extra gear.

Just 11 months ago, for example, Mizuno, a well-known Japanese company that has been churning out products for the golf world for decades, launched a new range of putters with a high innovative and technological profile.

Forged from premium 1025 carbon steel and CNC milled, using all the fundamentals of the original M-Craft models, Omoi putters feature a heavier head weight to increase MOI (moments of inertia) for improved stability and roll of the ball decidedly more uniform.

However, the process that saw Mizuno at the center of the design of this new putter is more complex than you think.
Stability and uniformity in weights, always well balanced and never positioned where they could cause problems for the golfer, have been sought through a very complete view of the entire club, not limited to just the face or just the head of the putter.

Mizuno, putters

Shaft, pipette and so on have been at the center, along with everything else, of the entire project and that is why Mizuno’s Omoi putters have succeeded so well.

In fact, there are several models that the Japanese company has decided to launch at the same time, all obviously part of the same series.

Omoi 01 is a 370 gram weight blade with a ¾ shaft offset.

Omoi 02 is a 370 gram weight blade with full shaft offset.

Omoi 03 is a full mallet weighing 383 grams (Face Balanced, full shaft offset).

Let’s be honest. When it comes to putters, not everyone immediately comes to mind Mizuno. the combination, on the other hand, when it comes to sets of steel irons or Sand wedges is much faster. In fact, the speaker has a set of Mp-63s in his bag, which are nothing more than a fairy tale. Soft and with the right feeling.

However, the giant steps in terms of putters have been made and how. And Omoi products are, to be honest, competitive clubs, decidedly correct whether you want to improve or are looking for a definitive putter that has technology to spare and that returns Pro Tour performance.

“Our tests showed that placing more of the additional club weight in the head provided smoother spin once the ball impacted. Depending on the models, we added up to 28 grams without increasing the size and without losing the soft feel typical of M-Craft putters” said David Llewellyn, R&D Director of Mizuno.

M.Craft Omoi putters are available in three finishes: New Double Nickel, bold Blue Ion or intense Black Ion. There is also a Black Out option that comes with a KBS Tour Black Ion-plated shaft, Lamkin Omoi Sink Fit grip post and blacked out M.Craft headcover.

In addition, each putter comes with an additional weight kit, which includes a pair of 3g and 13g weights that are interchangeable with the stock 8g ones.
