Seems like the front office knows the direction they want to go.

The NFL Draft is now only a few days away as the Cincinnati Bengals look to find the next young player to add to the rotation as they push for another deep playoff push this season.

Selecting at No. 18 overall in the first round this season, the Bengals front office has the unique opportunity to go in several different directions. That has brought up plenty of questions among the fanbase as well.

Will they select a tackle? Will they look for depth on defense? Will they go for the best available no matter the position?

Those are all very valid questions, but it appears that the front office staff already knows the direction they are going.

Director of college scouting Mike Potts, met with the media on Tuesday and was asked about the fluidity of the draft board. Potts had this to say as Draft Day looms closer;

“The board is pretty solidified right now. There’s definitely not going to be any major shifts over the next 48 hours until the draft starts. Maybe just little tweaks here and there,” Potts said. “Maybe this guy is the seventh guy at a position and we want to flop him with the eighth guy. It’s just minor tweaks here and there. Due to more information coming in. Due to more conversation between our personnel staff, coaching staff, ownership.”

It appears that things are still being kept close to the vest as they look for the right roster piece to add in round one on Thursday night. Maybe a player slides that mixes up the plans, but it appears the franchise has a plan in place heading into the weekend.
