Matthieu Pavon, born on November 2, 1992, is a French professional golfer who competes on both the PGA Tour and the European Tour. His victory at the 2024 Farmers Insurance Open marked a historic moment as he became the first French golfer to clinch a PGA Tour title since World War II.

Pavon’s professional journey began when he turned pro, and he initially played on the Alps Tour in 2014 and 2015. During this time, he achieved notable successes by winning the Open International de Rebetz in 2014 and the Servizitalia Open in 2015.

In 2015, Pavon reached the final stage of the European Tour Qualifying School, earning himself a spot on the Challenge Tour for the 2016 season. Although he didn’t secure a victory on the Challenge Tour in 2016, he demonstrated his potential by finishing as the runner-up three times at the Turkish Airlines Challenge, Montecchia Golf Open, and Foshan Open. He also achieved a joint third-place finish in the NBO Golf Classic Grand Final.
