Red Sox right-hander Lucas Giolito experienced discomfort in his right elbow after his most recent throwing session, manager Alex Cora announced Tuesday morning (X link via Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic). He’ll undergo additional testing to determine the root of the issue, but Cora acknowledged that the team is “concerned” and conceded that Giolito is expected to open the season on the injured list. “Not a good day for us,” Cora added.
