Liv Golf, rights

The most outstanding golfers can be seen on Movistar Plus+, as the participation of great representatives such as Jon Rahm and Sergio García in the LIV Golf League is confirmed. In addition, Spaniards such as Eugenio López Chacarra and David Puig join the competition, along with other notable names such as Dustin Johnson, Brooks Koepka and Cameron Smith.

The LIV Golf League will consist of fourteen stops in destinations as diverse as Andalusia, Las Vegas, Hong Kong and Singapore. The first appointment is scheduled for February 2 in Mayakoba, Puerto del Carmen, Mexico.

Movistar Plus+ becomes the only option that offers complete golf coverage in Spain through the exclusive channels Golf on Movistar Plus+ (dial 67) and Golf 2 on Movistar Plus+ (dial 68). These channels will provide access to the best men’s and women’s competitions, complete programs with platform experts and the opportunity to follow the best golfers in the world.

With this acquisition, Movistar Plus+ completes its calendar of golf events with the most important tournaments in the world, which include the LIV Golf League, the Ryder Cup, the Augusta Masters, the US Open, the British Open, the PGA Championship, the PGA Tour, the DP World Tour, the Solheim Cup and the 5 women’s Majors.

The inaugural season of the LIV Golf Invitational Series consisted of eight 54-hole no-cut stroke play tournaments, culminating in a final Team Championship. The Team Championship was designed as a “seeded four-day, four-round, match play knockout” event held at Trump National Doral Miami in October 2022.

In June 2022, it was reported that LIV Golf would undergo changes in the following year, transitioning into a league format with a schedule comprising 14 events and featuring 48 contracted players.

On July 27, 2022, Norman, the founder of LIV Golf, announced the implementation of a promotion and relegation system within the league. This system includes a rankings list and involves four players being relegated out of the initial 48 contracted players.

The LIV Golf League boasts a substantial prize fund of $405 million. The scheduling of its events is strategically planned to avoid conflicting with major championships, premier tournaments on the PGA Tour, and international team events.
