LIV generates intrigue but other star is signing

on

The new LIV Golf season is about to begin with the Mayakoba tournament scheduled for this coming Friday. A few days before the start of the season, many unknowns arise regarding signings and changes in the teams, although there have still been no official announcements from LIV. It seems like the league is saving big reveals for the opportune time. The latest news involves Jon Rahm, this year’s breakout star, and a possible star signing for his team. According to reports from The Telegraph, English golfer Tyrrell Hatton would leave the PGA Tour to join Legion XIII, the team captained by Rahm. It is rumored that this transfer could imply a contract of 50 million pounds, almost 60 million euros.

Curiously, Rahmbo’s team does not yet appear on the official LIV website, and the league has not announced on social media the name of the team or the other two players who will be part of it: Caleb Surratt and Keiran Vincent. Since Jon Rahm joined the Saudi Super League, there has been a noticeable silence surrounding the details of his team. There has also been no comment on the expected signing of Poland’s Adrian Meronk, who was the top player on the DP World Tour last year and who withdrew from the PGA Tour’s Farmers Insurance Open at the last minute and is rumored to be joining The Cleeks. The uncertainty is notable a few hours before the tournament begins in Mayakoba, Mexico.

If Hatton’s addition is confirmed, it would be a big blow for Rahm’s team, as they would have a renowned player in their ranks. Hatton occupies 16th place in the world ranking (he was fifth), has won one event on the PGA Tour and another six on the DP World Tour, in addition to obtaining top-10 finishes in majors five times and being selected three times for the Ryder Cup. Rahm and Hatton were paired in the Ryder Cup on three occasions, achieving 2.5 points and demonstrating great harmony, especially in the last edition in Marco Simone. Known for his strong temperament and his propensity to express himself forcefully during the game, LIV Golf would ensure the presence of another very attractive personality for fans if Hatton joins their ranks. Hatton, like Rahm, was also registered with the TGL, the digital golf league promoted by Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods, and would have to leave it. He was even already part of a team, the Boston Common, along with McIlroy, Adam Scott and Keegan Bradley. It looks like there are some exciting announcements coming up at LIV Golf in the coming days before the start of the season.
